Welcome to Madhatters Toastmasters!

We meet every Friday from 7:00 a.m. until 8.20 a.m. in the AA Boardroom, at the AA building on 45 Halifax Street, Nelson. Entrance is via the back door and up the stairs - the door will be open from 6:45am so come early and grab yourself a hot drink and a muffin. The only times we don't meet are for public holidays - please refer to our Club Calendar to check a specific date.

Our members include people from a diverse range of backgrounds with an interest in developing their communication and leadership skills. We are committed to providing a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

We love having visitors to our club, so please come along and meet us and see what it is all about. A typical meeting includes two to three prepared speechs, an impromptu speaking session, and evaluations of the speakers and and other roles performed at the meeting. Feel free to come and observe Madhatters in action, have a chat and ask questions of any of our members. We hope Madhatters will meet your needs.

Fees:
The joining fee (including up to 6-months subscription) ranges from between $51 to $127 depending on which month you join. Ongoing fees are charged every 6 months of approximately $90. We can give you accurate figures at the time of application.

Membership:
Once your application to join has been accepted you are entitled to:
1. A new membership kit, containing

Competent Communicator Manual (CCM); providing support material for the first ten speeches
Competent Leadership Manual (CLM) providing advice on how to conduct other roles throughout the Toastmasters meeting
Educational booklets on Effective Evaluation, Body Gestures, Speaking Voice

2. Attend weekly meetings
3. Receipt of the monthly Toastmasters International Magazine
4. Receipt of the regular national newsletters
5. Support from Club members
